Residents in White Center are trying a new plan to answer this question: how do you keep booze away from drunks?
Liquor distributors and business owners are lining up to try just that. They’ve joined forces with the King County Sheriff’s Office and have agreed not to sell cheap single-serving high-alcohol drinks before 1 p.m. The voluntary policy took effect on April 1.
“I think it’s a great idea. I especially like that it’s a voluntary thing,” said Justin Cline of Full Tilt Ice Cream.
“We’re trying to be more family-orientated,” said Paul Kim of Smoke Town.
Area business owners say in this community, they work together to make this neighborhood thrive. They also band together to face problems that plague the area, including chronic drinking on the streets.
