State troopers say a suspected drunk semi truck driver caused a crash that rained debris onto Interstate 405 early Wednesday, causing a huge backup and damaging several cars.Trooper Julie Startup said the truck driver was westbound on State Route 522 when he lost control on the ramp to southbound I-405 and crashed into a light pole and concrete barrier at about 12:30 a.m.Pieces of the pole and chunks of cement fell onto the interstate below, causing a six-car crash. All of the injuries were minor, but medics were also called to help a woman who went into labor while stuck in the backup caused by the crash. It took crews more than five hours to get all lanes of southbound 405 back open.In addition to allegedly being drunk, troopers say the semi truck driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel.
