A man arrested for allegedly hitting another motorist 15 to 20 times with a heavy metal flashlight during a road-rage incident last week in Maple Leaf told officers he was mad, drunk and defending his girlfriend, according to the Seattle Police Department.
According to the victim, the incident started when he was cut off by a Jeep, forcing him to slam on his breaks, while merging onto I-5 from I-90 around 1 a.m. May 28.
The victim told officers he was mad about being cut off and felt he should report the Jeep to police, so he followed it to 15th Avenue Northeast and Lake City Way Northeast.
According to the victim, he pulled up next to the Jeep with the intent of questioning the driver. But before he could get out of his car, the male passenger from the Jeep was at his door, hitting him with a large metal flashlight, according to the police report for the incident.
