Police working to stem crime in Cal Anderson Park

It hasn’t been a good summer for Cal Anderson Park.The popular Capitol Hill meeting place has been a hotbed for violent crime of late. In the past few months alone, there’s been a stabbing, a brutal assault that nearly left a man dead, stories of kids being stuck by hypodermic needles, an assault on two park rangers and a bizarre walk-by pepper spraying, among other petty crimes.The mini crime wave led to complaints from local parents who said they no longer felt safe brining their kids to the park, which in turn caused the police department to step up its patrols in the area.Now the commander of Seattle PD’s East Precinct, Capt.
