A man was shot during a drunken brawl outside a gay-friendly pub in Capitol Hill early Sunday, but was so drunk he didn’t realize he had been hit by a bullet, according to the Seattle Police Department.
Police say the shots began around 2:30 a.m. in front of R Place Tavern in the 1500 block of Boylston Avenue, after four people got into a fist fight.
A man watching the fight saw two of his friends were losing the battle, so he pulled out a gun and shot at the person beating up his friends, according to police; although witnesses told police they thought the man fired the gun into the air.
Police arrested the gunman and looked for anyone injured by the gunshots, but were unable to find a victim, according to police.
Police also arrested the man targeted by the gunman, and took him to the police station for misdemeanor assault.
As police were taking the drunken man to the police station, he started complaining about pain in his back, according to police.
