A man was hit by a drunk driver after leading police into the street last night in the 1100 block of SW Grady Way, according to the Renton Police Department.
Police say the incident began around 8:50 p.m. when they arrived at the scene after a call about a man in his 20’s who was creating a disturbance.
An officer approached the man as he began to walk away towards SW Grady Way, but instead of stopping for police he walked into the road, according to police.
Despite attempts by police to get the man out of the road he refused, eventually walking towards the officer and positioning his body in an offensive fighting stance.
The officer was able to divert most of the traffic away from the man during the incident, but had to jump clear of at least one vehicle, which then drove by and hit the man, according to police.
The man sustained head injuries and was transported to Harbor View Medical Center for treatment.
