The assault happened in the 1600 block of Broadway Avenue around 6 p.m. Friday, when the man threw the chair at the woman, according to the Seattle Police Department.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found the woman extremely intoxicated, and the man gone.
The woman was treated by firefighters at the scene for a 1-inch cut on her upper left arm, according to police. She was then taken to Harborview Medical Center.
It is unclear why the fight occurred, but witnesses at the scene helped provide police with a description of the man.
A short time after the incident, police located the man in the 1500 block of Broadway Avenue. Although he denied the fight, officers booked him into King County Jail.
