Someone with an apparent knowledge of the business broke into Gus Cooper’s Services in Fremont last week, making off with cash and cigarettes, according to the Seattle Police Department.
According to the police report for the incident, the burglary happened sometime between 11 p.m. Aug. 15 and 6 a.m. Aug. 16 when someone threw a brick through a maintenance bay window at the auto shop in the 4600 block of Fremont Avenue North.
The burglar got inside and used tools from an unlocked tool cabinet to break the dead bolt off a locked office where the safe was kept, according to the report. The burglar took the cash out of the safe, which was likely left unlocked, according to the report.
According to the report, the burglar also went through desk doors and took approximately 21 packs of cigarettes from the lobby.
