In what may be the greatest, drunkest reasoning for assault ever, a suspect arrested Monday in lower Queen Anne told police, “I punched him after he told me I could work for him. My government manual indicates I can’t work for anyone other than the government.”
It all started around 11:15 p.m. when police were called to a restaurant in the 300 block of Roy Street where they found a man on the ground moaning in pain as the Seattle Fire Department treated him.
An employee at the restaurant told officers the suspect and victim were drinking together at the bar before going out for a smoke. As they were coming back into the restaurant, the suspect turned around and punched the victim a few times in the face with both fists, the employee said. The victim fell backward through the door and hit his head on the concrete.
According to the police report for the incident, the victim didn’t remember what happened. He had been unconscious when the Fire Department arrived and
