A drunk driver drove through an accident scene and hit a patrol car at 25 mph Tuesday night on Aurora, “despite the fact that there were patrol cars with flashing lights, police tape, flares and traffic cones,” according to the Seattle Police Department.
Officers and detectives were set up in the 5900 block of Aurora Avenue North around 9:15 p.m. because a pedestrian had been hit by a Subaru, leaving him with life-threatening injuries, according to police.
The pedestrian was transported to Harborview Medical Center. The driver of the Subaru did not appear intoxicated and was released, according to police.
While investigating that accident, a car drove past the police line, hit a patrol car and continued to drive down Aurora while straddling the median, according to police.
