A man who had to be escorted home by police after getting too drunk at the Washington State Convention Center on Sunday had to be apprehended by SWAT officers later that day for firing a gun in his apartment, according to the Seattle Police Department.
Police say the incident began around 2:30 p.m. when a Convention Center security guard called 911 to receive help removing the drunken man from the center. Officers arrived and escorted the man to his apartment in the 1000 block of Union Street.
About an hour-and-a-half later, officers received a call about a gun being fired inside the same apartment. When they arrived, the man’s girlfriend was leaving the apartment uninjured, and talking with investigators, according to police.
The woman told police that the single gunshot was not directed at her, and she did not know why her boyfriend fired the gun, according to police.
