A man suffered a serious head injury when the car he was a passenger in smashed into a tree and retaining wall early this morning, according to the Seattle Police Department.
According to police, the 26-year-old man driving the black Kia appeared to be drunk and driving at an excessive speed.
The Kia was traveling northbound in the 12500 block of 15th Avenue Northeast shortly after 1:30 a.m. when it veered onto the west side of the street, hitting the tree and rock retaining wall, according to police.
Both men were transported to Harborview Medical Center for treatment of their injuries. The driver was later arrested and booked into King County jail for investigation of vehicular assault.
