Pilot program will allow free booze samples

Free food and drink samples are a staple of grocery stores, but a new Washington law will now allow customers to sample booze at state liquor stores.Beginning September 1, the state Liquor Control Board will begin a yearlong pilot program that will allow 30 liquor stores throughout the state to host in-store spirit tastings as often as once a week.Among the stores selected to take part in the program are locations in Renton and Auburn.“We are excited to have this opportunity for our customers to taste new and interesting products in our stores,” Liquor Control Board Chair Sharon Foster said in a news release announcing the program.“With more than 1,100 spirits products available in state stores, customers can now enhance their product knowledge by trying something they may never have considered before and learn first-hand about the products from distillers’ representatives.”In order to ensure that customers aren’t getting drunk during the tastings, samples will be limited to four, View full post on “drunk” News
