Ore. man pleads guilty to vehicular homicide that killed Burien family

A Hillsboro, Ore., man accused of driving drunk and causing a Vancouver, Wash., crash that killed a Burien infant has pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide.
The Columbian reports that 26-year-old Christopher Roman will be sentenced Dec. 9.
Clark County Senior Deputy Prosecutor Kasey Vu says Roman faces between 4 ½ and 5 ½ years in prison. Vu says the plea Wednesday didn’t involve a plea bargain.
Prosecutors alleged Roman was intoxicated and driving fast on Aug. 21 on northbound Interstate 5 when he lost control of his car and struck a car on the side of the freeway.
The 3-month-old baby’s parents, 21-year-old Terra Pina and 23-year-old Angel Pena from the Puget Sound area were on their way home from a camping trip and stopped on the highway shoulder to fix a flat tire. The Washington State Patrol said the infant was inside the disabled car and died at the scene. View full post on “drunk” News
