A Marysville woman who fought with deputies after a 2010 crash that killed her 7-year-old son was sentenced Wednesday in Everett to more than two years in prison.
Kortnie Forbes entered a guilty plea in March, agreeing that a jury would likely find her guilty of vehicular homicide in the September 2010 crash near Arlington that killed Isayah Forbes. Prosecutors said she was driving drunk.
The crash happened Sept. 18, 2010, near the intersection of Forty 5 Road and McRae Road NW, said Lt. Rodney Rochon of the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.
When emergency personnel arrived, Forbes was found outside the pickup. She began struggling with deputies and had to be forcibly restrained and strapped to a gurney. She was later taken to the hospital.
An eyewitness who lives near the crash site said the woman appeared to be in shock and was telling neighbors at the scene that another vehicle cut her off, which caused the crash.
