Homeless man punched, knocked unconscious on Capitol Hill this weekend

Police say a belligerently drunk homeless man was punched and knocked unconscious on Capitol Hill on Saturday evening.According to a police report, officers responded to a reported assault near the corner of 11th and E. Pike just after 6:15 p.m. on Saturday.When they arrived on scene, police found a man lying unconscious on the street. Emergency crews fitted the man with a back board and transported him to Harborview Medical Center. The man regained consciousness 8-10 minutes later, and police say it was immediately evident that he was highly intoxicated.Once he woke up, police say the man was combative with medical personnel at the scene and at the hospital. He reportedly yelled racial slurs at the medical staff and tried to escape once he arrived at the hospital.At some point during the melee, the man told police he was “(Expletive) wasted on scotch.”A witness told police the man was walking westbound in the 1100 block of E.
