Brian Sullivan, chairman of the Snohomish County Council, former Mukilteo mayor and a former state lawmaker, was arrested Thursday night for investigation of DUI in Mukilteo, police said.
The incident began when Mukilteo police received a 911 call at about 7:50 p.m. reporting a suspected drunk driver heading south on the Mukilteo Speedway. The caller said the vehicle was “all over the road.”
Officers responded and caught up with the suspected drunk driver after he turned right at Chennault Beach Road and stopped in front of a business, said a Mukilteo police spokesperson.
The driver, identified as Sullivan, smelled of alcohol and officers asked if he had been drinking. He said he had been and agreed to take a field sobriety test. After the tests were complete, officers placed him under arrest shortly after 8 p.m.
