A Central District man was beaten with a metal baseball bat last weekend after an argument with a friend turned violent.
Police responded to Harborview Medical Center on Sunday evening after getting a call about an assault.
A patient at the hospital told police he was assaulted earlier that day at Holly Park. He said a friend of his got upset and beat him with a baseball bat, striking him four times in the shins and head before leaving him bleeding in the street.
The victim said his friend picked him up at his East Olive Street house at roughly 5 p.m. When the victim got into the man’s car, he noticed an “unknown heavy-set” woman in the back seat. As the trio drove away, the victim also realized that both his friend and the unknown woman were “very drunk or high,” according to the police report.
